Project Overview

Vorta Studio is a contemporary commercial building designed around the contrast of raw concrete and warm timber — two materials that define both its exterior language and its interior character. Located in Singapore, the project was conceived as a working environment that prioritizes natural light, human comfort, and a strong architectural identity. Cantilevered volumes and deep horizontal overhangs respond directly to the tropical climate, shading interior spaces while lending the building a bold, sculptural presence.

Scope Of Work

The scope covered full architectural design and construction documentation, encompassing structural expression, facade system design, interior workplace planning, and landscape integration around the building perimeter.

  • Architectural concept and structural expression
  • Concrete and timber facade system design
  • Climate-responsive shading and overhang detailing
  • Interior workplace planning and natural light optimization
  • Perimeter landscape and green buffer integration

Vision

The vision was to create a commercial building that feels as considered as a private residence — where materiality, proportion, and light are treated with the same care regardless of program. The layering of concrete base, timber screen, and recessed glazing was designed to give the building depth and texture that reads differently at every hour of the day.

Result

The completed building has established itself as a quiet landmark within its commercial precinct, recognized for the quality of its material execution and the sophistication of its architectural language. Occupants consistently report high levels of satisfaction with the working environment, and the project has been shortlisted for two regional commercial architecture awards since completion.
